Vegan Fashion
Tracy
I’m a vegan writer and filmmaker from Los Angeles. Thailand has been my home for over a decade, so I no longer own a coat and miss wearing layers.
I’ve watched every season of Ru Paul’s Drag Race and love fashion.
My style is a mix of punk, goth, dandy, mod, and minimalist.
Most of my closet is black, but I still enjoy looking at colorful outfits and critiquing them. Alexander McQueen and John Galliano are my favorite designers since both told stories with their fashion. They have put out the most innovative and unique pieces the world has ever seen. I still get goosebumps when I rewatch some of their runways.
My biggest fashion icons are Oscar Wilde, Salvador Dali, Sid Vicious, David Bowie, Siouxsie Sioux, Trent Reznor, Billy Porter, Tilda Swinton, and Nicki Minaj.
I’m also greatly inspired by fashion from the 1700s and 1800s. Cravats are hot! Fast fashion is horrible for the eyes and the environment, and as Oscar Wilde once said, “Everything popular is wrong.”
Fashion is an art form and a way to express who you are. Don’t follow trends…start them! You can read more of my articles on Medium, follow me on IG, or check out my YouTube channel.

And “about me”…

The Founder
Pete Martin
Hi, I’m Pete Martin. Founder of The Vegan Varsity.
Qualified personal trainer with a diploma in “Nutrition and Wellbeing“, published copywriter for health and sport businesses, and probably the world’s least likely vegan blogger.
Let me explain…
I came late to this party.
Growing up in Northern Ireland, son of a farmer, my dinner choices were Spuds, peas, carrots, plus ‘A Meat’. Fish on Fridays.
It’s all I knew.
When I got into my fitness and became more nutritionally-aware, I began to take more notice of what I was putting in my body.
But even then, my choices revolved around meat and fish. Especially if I wanted to hit my protein targets so the gym work didn’t go to waste.
People had told me about a horrific documentary exposing the brutality of farmed chickens, but I still looked away. I didn’t want it ruining my KFC. Ignorance was bliss.
But something changed these last few years. Getting older and (arguably) more mature.
The pandemic. The climate catastrophe. The birth of my little girl.
I started to see that my choices had consequences, and I couldn’t let myself cop out by saying lil ol’ me couldn’t make a difference.
So….(I’m getting to the end of this story, I promise)… I took the plunge myself.
First to vegetarianism. Then, when I realised my family weren’t going to disown me, my precious muscles weren’t wasting away, and- hey- I don’t want fish to die for my sandwich either, I decided to go the whole hog (plant-based, of course.)
And I’ve never looked back!
It’s opened me up to a whole new diet (“what the hell is ‘tempeh’?!”), I feel great physically, and I can feel proud of my choices.
I hope you like my site. I put in hundreds of hours educating myself as I made my choice and, hopefully, all my research and knowledge can help you too.
Any questions? Don’t be shy, gimme a shout!
ps. I couldn’t find a picture of myself bursting out of a vest or tenderly stroking a kitten, so here’s one with my little girl, Birdy, instead.
